Gareth has been running Tir Dewi since November 2016, not long after it was launched. ‘I recall joining this small local charity in a part time role and thinking that this will be a nice little job to keep me busy for a while – little did I know what lay ahead!’ He now leads an organisation operating across most of Wales with an amazing team of highly knowledgeable and committed staff and volunteers.
Gareth lives in Pembrokeshire with his wife, attends Penuel Chapel in Roch and, in any spare time enjoys riding bikes (with and without engines) and walking his two Border Collies.

My current role focuses on recruiting, training and supporting our team of dedicated volunteers throughout Pembrokeshire Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire. The depth of experience, commitment and compassion shown by our volunteers is remarkable.
Wyn Thomas ~ Young Farmers’ Project Manager

I was bought up on the family dairy and sheep farm in Ceredigion, where I still play an active role. Growing up, the YFC movement was a massive part of my life and I personally gained immeasurable experience from being a member. After spending 15 years as a Minister in rural Ceredigion I joined Tir Dewi as YFC Project Manager in September 2020.
I now live in Carmarthenshire, where we breed peafowl and keep donkeys on our smallholding.
