Supporting Farmers and Families
We support farmers and their families face-to-face at the farm or in an agreed environment where they feel comfortable talking.
Acting as Advocates to Support You
We can act as an advocate, supporting you to communicate with those involved in your problems and even accompanying you on meetings if it could help.
It is very important to us that everyone we support feels comfortable and safe. One way we do this is by ensuring that all the support we offer and everything that has been discussed will be kept confidential. We will never do anything without the consent of the person we are supporting.
We provide you with a listening empathetic ear, in a safe confidential environment. All our volunteers have a connection one way or another to agriculture so they can truly empathise with the daily difficulties faced by farmers. We are not here to judge; we are here to support and guide you and help you find solutions to your problems.
We don’t pretend to have the answer to everything but often a chat is the first step to a solution, opening up to what’s going on inside.
We can help to untangle your problems, help you to prioritise, and eventually be able to resolve them.
If more help is needed, we have a list of contacts with other agencies and charities with whom we work closely. We can make the introductions on your behalf and stay with you for as long as you want us to be involved.
We can be supporting you and your families for many years but, in other cases, the problem may be resolved after a couple of phone calls or one visit.
